1. About this policy
This policy covers the Letters to God app and this companion website. Letters to God is a private prayer journal. Letters and saved responses are written by the user. The app does not analyze them with AI or produce messages presented as replies from God.
The current development version has no advertising or analytics SDKs. Production Apple sign-in, subscription products, and iCloud services have not yet been enabled.
2. Information and its purpose
| Information | Where it is handled | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Letters & responses | Your device. Optional private iCloud copies when sync is available and enabled. | To save, display, search, and organize your writing. |
| Selected photos | Optimized JPEG copies in the app; optional iCloud attachments with sync. | To attach photos to letters. Original location and camera metadata are not copied. |
| App preferences | Local device preferences. | To remember language, Bible version, and app choices. |
| Purchases | Apple processes payments. The app checks signed StoreKit transaction information. | To verify subscription access and restore purchases when available. |
| Account sign-in | Not active in this build. When enabled, authentication information is exchanged with an account service. | To authenticate an Apple sign-in; letter contents are not included in that exchange. |
3. Storage, sync & backups
Writing and photos are stored in the app on your device. If iCloud sync becomes available and you choose to enable it with Plus, copies are uploaded to your private iCloud storage using the account in device Settings. Edits and deletions sync too. Turning sync off retains existing local and iCloud copies.
Device backups may include app data depending on your system settings. Sync and device backups are different services. Loss of a device or uninstalling the app may cause loss of local writing without a valid backup.
4. Photos, App Lock & network requests
Only photos you choose in the system picker are imported. Originals in Photos are unchanged. The app creates optimized JPEG reading copies and does not copy original EXIF/GPS metadata. It is not an original-photo backup service.
App Lock asks the operating system to verify Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. The app does not receive your biometric templates. App Lock controls access and is not a promise of end-to-end encryption.
Optional Bible downloads contact the listed text provider. As with ordinary downloads, the provider handles connection information needed to deliver the file. Your letter contents are not sent in Bible download requests.
5. Retention, deletion & your choices
Deleted letters remain in Recently deleted for up to 30 days unless permanently deleted sooner. You can restore them during that period. Permanent deletion and Delete all letters remove writing from the app; non-content deletion markers may remain to prevent old copies from returning during sync.
Photo files are removed when no letter or recovered copy uses them. Deleting inside the app does not remove exported copies or historic device backups. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate. See deletion instructions
6. This website & support
This website introduces the app and provides help. It does not provide a journal editor, upload letters or photos, sell subscriptions, or accept support submissions. Its search filters help text in your browser. The public pages have no advertising or analytics scripts. The restricted admin area uses secure session cookies and CSRF protection; it does not provide access to private letters.
The website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Lightsail. The server and hosting provider process connection information, such as IP addresses and website requests, as needed to deliver and protect the site. Website hosting does not receive the private letters stored in the app. Hosting services are subject to AWS privacy notices. AWS privacy notice.
Contact support@ltgod.com for help. Share only the details needed to resolve the issue and avoid including private letters or sensitive photos. Support messages are processed to answer your request.
7. Updates & contact
