HERE TO HELP
A little guidance.
A quieter start.
Find your way around your private journal. Start with a question below, or search the help center.
Writing & your mailbox
How do I start a letter?
Tap Write in the app. The creation date is saved when you begin, and drafts save after a short pause in typing. Tap Done to save and return. You can reopen and edit the letter later.
Are my letters sent to anyone?
Letters are private journal entries. Saving or sealing a letter keeps it in your mailbox; it does not send it to another person. Optional iCloud sync, when available and enabled, uploads copies to your private iCloud storage.
How many photos can I add?
Each letter can include up to three photos, on both Free and Plus. Only selected photos are imported as optimized JPEG copies, without original location or camera metadata. Removing a photo does not change the original in Photos.
What do Waiting and Answered mean?
They help you organize your own prayer journey. You can mark a letter as waiting and add dated personal reflections with Response to God. Saved responses are written by you and can be searched alongside your letters.
What should I do if saving fails?
Keep the app open and copy any unsaved writing. Free device storage if necessary, then retry. Avoid uninstalling the app as a troubleshooting step: local writing may be lost without a valid backup.
Scripture & reflection
How do I insert Scripture?
Enter a reference such as John 3:16, or open the book button in the editor. Preview the passage and tap Insert to add it. The saved quotation keeps its reference and translation when you change Bible versions later.
Can I read Scripture offline?
WEBP, KJV, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese Union Versions are included for offline lookup. ASV 1901 and WEB British Edition can be downloaded in the app. NKJV is not currently available. Daily verses work offline using the included translations.
Is the daily verse a reply to my letter?
Daily passages follow a fixed calendar plan for reflection. They are not selected by analyzing your writing, are not generated replies from God, and do not promise an outcome for a prayer.
Free & Letters Plus
How does the free limit work?
Free allows up to 10 letters, including drafts and Recently deleted. Permanently deleting a letter frees a place. Responses do not use an extra letter slot. App Lock is free.
How will I restore purchases?
Once subscriptions are available, use Settings → Letters Plus → Restore purchases with the same Apple Account used to buy the subscription. The current preview does not offer production purchases.
How do I cancel or request a refund?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open iPhone or iPad Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or an app account does not cancel a subscription. For a refund, use Apple’s refund request service. Apple cancellation help · Request a refund
What happens when Plus ends?
Existing local letters remain readable and editable, even above the free limit. Sync and export pause. To create new letters, get below the free limit or resubscribe. Exports are readable copies, not backups you can import into the app.
Privacy, sync & deletion
Is iCloud sync available?
The current development build has not enabled the production iCloud service. The planned Plus feature uses the iCloud account signed in through device Settings. When available, sync is optional and includes edits, deletions, and photo attachments.
How do I delete letters or an account?
Letters, the app account, iCloud copies, exports, and Apple subscriptions are managed separately. Our deletion guide explains each path and its effects. Read the deletion guide
Do I need an account to write?
No account is needed for the local free journal. Apple sign-in is not enabled in this preview. Signing in with Apple, buying through the App Store, and using iCloud are separate account systems.
